Question Anyone remember Movin' On?

This was one of my favorite shows when I was a kid. According to tvtome.com it aired from 74 - 76.

Ah, Movin' On "The white line is the lifeline to the nation. And men like Will and Sonny make it move."

Yep, came out during the CB craze. Had the guy (Claude Atkins) from the AAMCO transmission commerials. Will and Sonny. Other details are fuzzy, but then again it was almost 30 years ago.

Good on you to get Will and Sonny! I had Claude Atkins, but not Sonny's name.

Yeah, I remember it. But then I'm older than TV in general, just not so old I've lost all my memories!

I was fairly heavy into the CB craze myself. First we had an add on box that would covert a car's AM radio to pick up the CB channels (1-23). Then I had a base station in my room, complete with a huge onmidirectional antenna outside the window. On a good night I could get Louisiana as the signal skipped across the Gulf of Mexico from Florida. Not much else for a 10-year old geek to do during the mid-70's.

quote:
Was the dark of the moon on the sixth of June
In a Kenworth pullin' logs
Cab-over Pete with a reefer on
And a Jimmy haulin' hogs
We is headin' for bear on I-one-oh
'Bout a mile outta Shaky Town
I says, "Pig Pen, this here's the Rubber Duck.
"And I'm about to put the hammer down."

"Smokey and the Bandit" goes without saying.

Loved that show. I even built the Kenworth model with the green on green paint job -- came out pretty good!

Edit: Here's the model:

We had career day once at school and because of the show one of the sessions I signed up for was truck driver. My mom wasn't too happy with that, though.

Smile

This show almost made a truck driver out of me also. I had forgotten about the model! I had mine for years. Any chance of this one on TV Land?

Frank Converse played Sonny, the law student who was Sonny's co driver.
I thought it was a fun show......

Big wheels a-rollin...
Big wheels a-rollin
Movin' On...

Big wheels a-rollin...
Big wheels a-rollin
Movin' On...

The white line
is the life line
of the nation...

And men like Will and Sonny
keep her stong...

A good hot cup of coffee
is waiting up ahead...

And a steady hand
to haul that load behind...

HOLY CRAP...why do I remember that...?

I remember this show, too! I had a huge crush on Frank Converse at the time. I'd like to see this again to see if it was a decent show or would I know find it ridiculous! Another obscure show that Frank Converse was in was called Coronet Blue, and it was a show that ran one summer for a limited number of episodes. Mostly I remember it has a 60s secret agent-type theme music to it. You're really a Frank Converse fan if you remember that show! For that matter, what ever happened to Frank Converse?

I see from Frank Converse's bio that he did a Law and Order episode in 2001 and a part in Our Town in 2003, but not much else recently, so it looks like he's not as active now.
