The vBulletin wordwrap setting needs to be increased slightly from its current setting of 50 in admin cp.

A number of people have complained about wanting to post links to DealTime sections (to encourage others to buy there, it being a forum sponsor ) and sometimes being unable to do so or getting weird results. Most of these problems are due to the wordwrap setting being just a little too short for some DealTime URLs. (Actually, the problem isn't with the raw length of a URL but rather with URLs having a long, unbroken run of letters and underscores.)

For example, Amplifier Accessories is what happens with an attempt to post a link to DealTime's section on amplifier accessories.

I also just got bitten on the Cable/Satellite Box Compatibility & Codes List post that I maintain. There, wordwrap is inserting a spurious newline after each link (in black) with the word “recommends” (links are to posts in this forum where the recommendations were made)—they are just long enough to trigger the wordwrap bug.

Here is a thread from the vBulletin forum about this problem. (Also, some versions of vBulletin apparently partially work around the problem by disabling wrapping for tokens containing ‘.’ characters. I don't know if 2.2.8 is included, but this wouldn't catch the DealTime cases anyways.)

Making a link to DealTime does not help the site for one would need to use the serach box for us to get credit. This has never been an issue on the site before for here or AVS. After all, would not really want to see LARGER links on the site.

Really, DealTime doesn't give you credit by looking at referer info? Interesting.

What about links to search results that are returned by the search box? It's a lot more convenient to just give someone a link to some search results rather than having to tell them to type a certain string in the search box.

Again, the current setting seems just small enough by a few characters that it has caused problems for a few users. Perhaps you could nudge it up to 53 or so?
