Mad Mad House Finale 4/29 **spoilers**

Know the show's still airing, and I haven't seen it yet either, but just in case someone is a little touchy about the finale, I'm starting a new thread.

Always good to be careful when finales are concerned.

By the way, I didn't mean to imply that anyone was wrongfully upset about finale spoilers....I happened to stumble into the other thread myself before I saw the finale and accidentally spoiled myself. While I don't mind that, I know it does (rightfully) bother some people. Just trying to be careful.

Nothing like being the only one to post in your own thread.

I had only a few things that I was thinking about the finale after I watched it....

-I am SO glad they got rid of psycho girl when they did. She's a real wack-job. I hope Art knows how to file for a restraining order. And seriously-Art's the kindest person there-what was up with her tirade against him? Yeesh.

-I kinda wanted Nichole to win just to spite Eric. I think it's the first time I ever watched a reality show and went from really kind of liking someone in the beginning to HATING them by the end. (Eric, that is. VERY fake.)

-I do think the final two really got the point of the whole exercise, and I was glad to see Jamie get the money for her new business-it's hard to get out of her old business sometimes.

-Fiona: Really Strange and Overdramatic.

Ycant, I agree with all your points but i wonder if Jamie will quit stripping, it's easy money for her and if she starts her own business it might entail her being away from her kid even more time. I wanted Nichole to win because she deserved it more- she rocked the challenges and fought off all but 1 other contestant who wanted her to lose. I wonder how much any of the contestants "grew" as a result of the show anyway. That said bring the show back next season with the same alts because even though I only liked art and avacado I think they all served a purpose on the show. Even Fiona who might be able to convince her crush eric to become a Mystic and return as a an Alt guest.

I agree. I was toying around in my head with replacements for Alts if one couldn't come back for another go-round. I got to thinking that it'd be interesting to have a non-charismatic christian in the Alts. Although that's not so "alt" as the ones this year.

Or maybe a traditional Jew, or an Amish person. At any rate, if Art's in it, I'll watch anything. He was very, very knowledgable and was a great teacher.

Back to the final trial, though, I thought it was a bit unfair that Eric had such a say in who lost. I thought adding the weight for Nichole was not quite fair. She would have lasted a LOT longer without the extra weight, I think.

Edited for a note: Anyone else think that Avocado, in that scene with the lightning, seemed AWFULLY fond of Fiona? He was messing with her hair and it made me wonder. Not that it matters but I'd hope Avocado'd have a little better taste than that.

I don't know about Avacado, but I was quite fond of Fiona as well in the beginning. As the show went on however her true "personality" seemed to come out and I didn't see her in the same light, and I actually started to really dislike her until at the end she was the alt who I disliked the most. I don't think they should add or replace any of these alts however. Even the ones that I dislike serve a purpose, Fiona really stirs things up with her theatrics and even T shia(?) became more a part of the show as it went on to the end. I hope the ratings were good enough to bring the show back but I wonder. On the plus side I guess that it was cheap enough to make and was as good or better than the other shows on SCIFI now that Farscape is gone although soon to make a brief return).

Speaking of T'shia, she's overly dramatic, too, but there's a part of me that likes her a lot. In her crazy way she really seemed to care about the participants, even if she didn't go about showing that in the best way. It seemed like her intentions were good, I guess.

That and out of all of the Alts, Voodoo is the one practice I know next to nothing about, so I found it interesting from that perspective, too.

The alt I did not really ever get was Don. I understood the other alt's spiritual practices but his seemed to be prancing around and being weird.

Of all the alts I liked Art the best.

I cannot believe that one girl with all the facial ticks works on political campaigns. She must really be behind the scenes because she is really disfunctional.

It was interesting that the guests without political or religious agendas made it to the end.

I thought the argument between Fiona and Art at the end was pretty weird. Fiona was complaining all the time about Art interrupting her when in fact, she was always interrupting him.

I didn't want Jaimie to win because I couldn't stand her heavy mascara. Isn't it funny how the little things can drive you crazy?

Overall, I was disappointed with this series.

Just got around to watching the finale.

As a series, I do hope Mad Mad House comes back, because I did enjoy it (despite being a bit disappointed compared to my expectatations from the previews before it started). The challenges were more over-the-top than on similar shows, and like 'em or hate 'em, the alts are charismatic and interesting to watch.

I agree with the points earlier here; I too would have preferred to see Nichole win. Bonnie ended up being the guest I liked the most. Kelly was most scary, Tim most unlikeable (although almost all the males were hard to like).

My hat is off to the production team; the show was well edited and very slickly put together.

I wonder how this did for SciFi in terms of ratings? The commercials shown were bottom-of-the-drawer type stuff (even by SciFi standards), and all over the map in terms of demographics, which makes me think it was not a hit.

I actually read the chats over at scifi.com; the alt who comes off as the most intelligent and self-assured is Ta'Shia.

One could say the alt's battles were better than the guests I'd probably watch it again but I do have to laugh at some of the stuff, it's way wacko.
