Hard Drive Replacement options?

Hi all,

I have a Sony SVR-3000, which has started to have a picture problem or spontaneous / endless reboot problem, especially when it is a warm day.

I've pretty much figured (from reading) that it is a hard drive problem -- but I'm not sure the best option for replacing it.

I have a Maxtor 80GB drive that I used to upgrade my old ReplayTV (wasn't in there for that long) which should still work. Is the data on my current drive still useable to restore onto the new one?

I could also just order something from weaknees.

The data on my current TiVo drive isn't that important -- its the s/w that I'm concerned about.

I welcome any suggestions.

tdc

As long as the TiVo still boots, you should be OK.
