Email notification when 2.0 rolls out needed!

I won't be able to check this forum regularly until TiVo ships 2.0, and I want to be able to take the forum's advise and replace my original 14hr drive before the download. Is there already a way to get notified by email before the download? I would suggest an email group like the Tivolution@egroups.com be used for this purpose. Better yet, I would suggest a moderated one-way egroup which many people can subscribe to which will only be used occasionally for important TiVo news and information. I would suggest a Tivo-announce egroup moderated by one of the real head hackers or Tivolutionary himself. I've got a couple of egroups lists myself, and that's the only reason I mention that specific group (egroups was bought by Yahoo! by the way), but I'm not the right person to run such a list.

Well, David Bott, the forum administrator, has the ability to send a message to all forum users with valid e-mail addresses. I don't know if he'd choose to do that, but it's one possibility that does not require everyone to sign up for a different service.

When 1.3 came out, Tivo sent an e-mail out to people on Tivo's list.
