Nestle Toll House break-apart cookies

Time for me to come clean.... I'm addicted to these things!! What better place to admit this?

I love my beer, especially on a Friday night after a long week, and I certainly had my period in my 20's where I was in no shortage of vices. But all those were easily controlled, not like the Nestle Toll House cookies.

It only takes about 5 minutes to get them from their convenient pre-scored slab to the cookie sheet, 15 mins to bake, and another 5 mins to cool (not completely of course). They are especially good when cooked on an "insulated" cookie sheet... one of the pans made from two layers of aluminum separated by air.

What am I going to do??? After I bake them, I can limit myself to about 4-6 cookies, but the next day when I come home from work, there they are waiting for me. I can't fight them. When they're all gone, I can't help but buy more. PLEASE HELP ME!!

When you make the next batch, let us know. We'll come over and eat them.

And about those insulated cookie sheets. I use them to bake cookies (Neslte Toll House Chocolate Chip, made the old school way), but find they brown on the bottom very poorly. Sure, no burns, but the bottoms are almost under done.

YOU BA$^@?D!!! I'd never heard of these before but now I'll probably pick some up. Then I'll try them and inevitably end up in the same condition as you. And then it will all be your fault. I hope you can live with yourself, knowing this.

Hopefully we will all soon be able to eat these along with the new muscle-building pills, and get buff while sitting on the couch watching our recorded shows and eating cookies. Then you will all thank me!

When that day arrives, I will bow down to the great cat Gods and beg forgiveness. I will also try to stop those flying monkeys from coming outta my butt.

But it's a nice thought.

Well, at least if your bowing to the cat Gods, you'll be in the right position for the monkeys.

Darin,

Admitting you need help is 1/2 the battle.

However, wanting to quit is the other 3/4.

Isn't that they way you want your cookies to come out? Cookies with brown bottoms are icky!

(BTW, depending on the temp you are cooking at, turning it down by 25 degrees and cooking an extra 2-5 minutes can take care of this. If you really want brown bottom cookies.)

if you liked them cooked...they you have to try this: Take 2 of the cookie squares and only cook them for like 9-10 minutes (about 3/4 done). Put the cookes in the bottom of a bowl. Add vanilla ice cream on top. Eat!

The 3/4 baked cookies go great with the cold ice cream.....yum

The bottoms should be *lightly* browned, just like the tops. My experience wit hthe insulatd sheets i that the bottom does not develop the same color as the top

Every time I hear of Nestle Toll House now it reminds me of the Friends ep. where Phoebe realizes that the "secret recipe" her late grandmother left is actually from the back of the package.

Toll House cookies? You've never tried anything truly addictive until you've had Crack House cookies!
