PC card for the Tivo AirNet

I've ordered a Tivo AirNet and can't wait for it to arrive. I understand that the Orinoco Silver and Gold cards are not compatible, which is too bad since that card has a connector for an external antenna. It would greatly simplify the installation. The D-Link that's being sold on the 9thtee site needs to be hacked to attach an antenna. Does anyone know of an "approved" card that has the same type of connector for an external antenna as the Orinoco Silver and Gold cards??

Thanks!

Ron Lockhart

For my Airnet setup I'm using an Orinoco Gold model with a Linksys Wap11 AP. There is no external antenna on my Orinoco card, and the Tivo case is completely closed. I'd say the AP is 15-20ft away from the Tivo, and behind an internal wall.

Very solid 'as-is' connection. Throughput on some of the apps I use will sustain a 600KB/s transfers.

For me at least, there is no need for an external antenna. I'm pretty damn happy.
