Exclamation Question about replacing drive A

I have two Tivos, both running Tivo OS version: 1.3.0-04-037-000. The units are as follows:

Tivo 1: Two drive unit 30 hours, Model# HDR312
Tivo 2: One drive unit 12 hours, Model# HDR112

I have read the FAQ and am thinking about upgrading both units to add an 80 gb HD.

I know that I can add an 80 gb drive to the HDR112 according to the Tivo hack FAQ.

I am wondering however if it is possible to do the following:

DD Drive A from Tivo#2 onto a similar quantum ~14 gb 5400 RPM drive. Then to take both drives out of TIVO#1, and add newly copied 14 gb drive to TIVO#1.

I don't want to do anything that could cause the nice folks at TIVO grief.. but I am wondering if this will work.

On the FAQ site they cautioned against replacing drives from different type machines, but they didn't provide much clarity for this issue.

Any help is greatly appreciated,

Capsmet

The "morons" were mixing different brands, Sony with Philips or vice versa. There's no problem with your plan. I've used a copy of my 312 "A" (single drive) in several of my 112's.
