Talking Maxtor 30 GB drive

Is the Maxtor 30GB drive big enough to do a disk to disk backup from the original 30 hour tive drive (HDR312-02)?

Maybe. You'd need to get detailed specs on both drives and make sure the Maxtor holds the same or more bytes, since 30 gig isn't that specific.

I used the Maxtor 30 gig drive to back up my A drive.
It worked fine.
In fact, I am using the Maxtor as my TiVo A drive, and have the original Quantum safely stashed away.

The Maxtor 30.7GB DiamondMax 60 33073HA is a great replacement for the Quantum Fireball LCT 10 30GB disk found in the Sony SVR-2000.
The Quantum drive is 30020MB and the Maxtor is 30736MB. You will end up wasting 716MB of space. Not bad for a $101 drive.
