Does it boot up if you just take the cachecard out?

If not, try pulling the disk, mounting it on your PC using a TiVo boot CD, and edit out the refrences to cachecard in rc.sysinit and rc.net.

Well I tried again to load the cache software now it gets stuck on power up. Man I wish I could get this fixed. I heard that there is a program that will kill the power up I will look for it. If I had a fresh image I would start all over.

Hi,

From the log you PM'd me it looks like tivoflash failed.

Try installed the harddrive back into a PC, booting off the nic_install cd, and trying:

/maddtb4/edit_bootparms hdc -K
/maddtb4/edit_bootparms hdc -s

Note - only do each line once!

Nick

right, but give it 20 mins to finish the GSOD and see if it works.

If not then you will need to restore a backup.

I will let it sit for a while and send you the log if it does not work. On the good side I am sure becomming a pro at taking the thing a part and putting it back together. Figured out a way to put everything back so that it fits.
1. put the card in without the memory
2. install memory after putting in the drives.

Actually, if you can still hear the hard drive doing things, give it at least an hour. One of mine managed to do something weird yesterday and it appeared to rebuild the enitrety of mfs from scratch. It said it was creating a new (empty) root directory and proceeded to import all the objects. It took well over an hour. The kernel log will tell you what it was doing once it gets done.

Every gsod I've had before this has fixed within 5 min, but these were just verify and do nothing passes. If it has to do anything, it will take a long time.

The good news is that it looks like the mfs fsck routines work well. I didn't loose anything but an hour and a half of uptime.
