Question will this work?

I have a 30hr dual drive and a 14hr units. Now the 14hr has no service(I got it just for the pause play so I don't need a sub). The 30hr I use fully. When I got the 30hr it had 1.2 and now it was upgraded to 1.3. The 30hr has the full sub and the 14hr has nothing. The 14hr is upgradable and the 30hr is not(dual drives) Is it possible to swap the drives between each unit so the one that used to be the 30hr dual with lifetime sub will now be the 14hr that I can upgrade and have the lifetime sub.

thanks

Talking

If both units are from the same manufacturer, and both ORIGINALLY came with the same version of software, then YES, that should work.

You didn't mention what the original version of the 14 hour software is, but if it was (and is) less than 1.2 (the original version of the 30 hour) placing it into the 30 hour unit will trigger the 'moron' clause (See the Hack FAQ if you don't know what this means.)

Basically, you don't want to put any version of software into a machine that is older than what was originally delivered with the unit.

And you NEVER want to put in any version of software that came from a unit from a different manufacturer. (Sony VS Philips)

Hope this helps.
