That coax from the community dish may be stacked. The DirecTV receiver you have has the ability to destack that signal internally, the DirecTV DVR doesn't. So you'll need to use a high frequency spitter and connect each output into a destacker. Now it gets a bit fuzzy for me, but I think these outputs then need to go into a muiltiswitch so that each resultant output can access the even and odd TPs. Will Feldon23 please sign in and provide the proper diagram.
But, then again the line into the apartment may just be from a large multiswitch. In which case you'll need another line for the second tuner.
