new HMO features ?

Anyone want to shed any light on this feature as described in a job post? I'm a DirecTivo user and can't get HMO.

Maybe it's just me, but that description is just vague enough that I'm not sure what "feature" you have in mind from it, or how to interpret what it is or how it would work. Are you hoping someone with insider information is going to spill the cat out of the bean-bag?

integration with Apple iLife - is this a new feature?
What's the Tivo Desktop software for Windows and Macs? Isn't HMO's remote scheduling through a web browser?

It looks like a straight forward job posting to me. Most of the home entertainment electronics (Escient Fireball, Kenwood Sovereign, HP media player) that transfer media files from PC also provide an application for organizing and collecting the media content (MP3’s, JPG’s, …). In some cases, these applications can pick up information from Internet sites as well (album covers, background CD content, streaming audio …). The TiVo Desktop is the HMO version of this application. At this point in time, it is very primitive: it makes the media directories and files visible to the TiVo and little else. If TiVo wants to play in this marketplace, they will have to provide competitive capability. The ad specifies someone with the basic skills needed to carry this out. It you want to speculate about the specific capability they intend to provide, look to their competition, where they are now and the direction the niche is moving. TiVo has a serious catch up problem.
