After spending 5 hours on the phone w/ tivo/linksys I have realized that the wusb11 v2.6 adapter I purchased is broken. It cannot get a signal.

I need help, I'm going to go to circuit city tomorrow and get a new usb, which one do I get???? I own a tivo made series 2.

I have two Netgear MA101 units which seem to work well. Others have reported good things about the supported Belkin and Microsoft ones. Frankly, I'd choose whichever one was on sale.

The "official" list of supported adapters is found at http://www.tivo.com/adapters

people have also reported success with the WUSB12 from LinkSys. Like bedelman I am very happy with the NetGear MA101.

Don't throw in the towel on the WUSB11 (linksys) adapter yet. Look closely at the USB cable that came with your adapter, one end should have a little transparent sticker on it telling you that that end needs to go to the adapter (WUSB11). When you connect the proper end to the adapter make sure you push it in really good so that it makes like a click-like noise telling you it is seated firmly. I had the same problem you did and the linksys support line told me that the installation instructions should have been more clear on this but oh well.

I have mine setup and it works just fine.

Trust me I've tried both ends. I even got the click in, it isn't working. I'm sending it back to linksys.

I need to know, is there any difference between the ma111 and the ma101??? When I searched on staples.com they came up with the ma111.

I don't know if it is wireless or not, but I have two Microsoft dongles (MN110, I believe) that are on the list and have worked great, but they are wired, not wireless...

Yes there is a difference -- the MA111 is similar in appearance to the LinkSys WUSB12 with the MA101 being similar to the WUSB11 in appearance.

I purchased the belkins one (the model # matched the one on the list), I cannot get it to work!!!!!

I have a mac address, ip address signal is 100% if I conntect through peer to peer. If I do the linksys option, it says linksys yet signal 0!!!! I also can't automatically get the ip address!!!!!! I have to do the obtain static ip feature.

I cannot get this to work and I'm considering canceling HMO on both units since this is the 3rd Wireless USB that has failed on me.

Please help me out!!!!!!!

A few background questions:
What is your router?;
Are you using a closed (SSID enabled) network?
Do you need to enter a password?

Finally, I got it to work!!!!!!!

I realized, 2+ wireless usb's that have yet to work with tivo, maybe it's not the wireless usb, maybe it's the router. I called linksys and asked if there's anyway I can fix my router, they said try updating the software. I downloaded some firmware thing from their site and now my wireless works great!!!!

Thanks for your help.
