Spontaneous reboot-problem coming?

Hughes HDVR2 upgraded to a single 120gb Seagate HD about 3 weeks ago.
Connected to a 500va UPS and has been working fine. Runs about 42 degrees temp

Last night, while watching/recording the same show it rebooted to the
welcome, powering up screen. Rebooted fine and was ok rest of the night

It never did this w/the original drive. Am I starting to head f/a drive failure ?
(this seems to be the sympton I've seen in searching through prev threads)

BTW..no freeze ups, pixelization or any other oddities, just rebooted. Thanks.

Loose internal power cables can cause this sort of thing.

Robert, thanks -even though I was very careful about the cables when I did the upgrade, I'll check them again if I get another reboot. "keeping fingers crossed"

Is there a way to tell if the tivo has rebooted when you're not viewing it.

It hasn't done it again f/ 2 days during viewing. Howver, I did notice in the morning that one of the tuners was on a ch displaying "directv showcase" logo on blue background.

The backdoors reveal an 'uptime' counter, which is very handy - if you have access to backdoor mode in your software version, of course.

The TiVo remembers where the highlight is on the menues. If they all revert to the top, you know the TiVo has rebooted.
