Cable/ant in on directv box??

I have a frind who has directv tivo and she also some locals over ant and would like to rec them on her directv dvr can she do that?

For RF passthough (put it in standby and it will passthrough the OTA signal to your TV, ala a VCR). It has no MPEG encoder as it records the direct satellite digital stream. Thus the best quality and much cheaper. Been that way forever and it won't change.

They should make a USB mpeg encoder for locals and use the same activation policy they do with HDTiVo and OTAHD.
