Exclamation Remotes

How about an RF remote, it's the only feature missing that high end DBS receivers have, and one feature I actually use on my RCA.

Lightbulb

I use the SL-9000 universal remote with my RCA DirecTV receiver and don't miss the RF. Why? This sucker BLASTS out some serious IR. You don't have to point it at anything in particular. Casually placed on the kitchen counter, vaguely pointing into the living room, some 20' away from the stereo, with the couch blocking line of sight, it works like a charm. I have not yet tried to program it to perform DirecTivo control, though (this weekend!).
