"Gimme, Gimme, Gimme" on BBCA

If you like Will & Grace and British comedies, check out "Gimme, Gimme, Gimme" on BBCAmerica.

This bizarre British comedy has been running lately on Friday nights on BBC America. You can also catch the hilarious gay-hosted talk show "So Graham Norton" on Friday evenings on BBCA.

Anyway, "Gimme Gimme Gimme" stars James Dreyfus (last seen as Bette's accompanist on Bette or as Hugh Grant's employee, Martin, on Notting Hill) and Kathy Burke, who doesn't appear to have much American claim to fame. It's worth watching just for the butchered version of Abba's "Gimme, Gimme, Gimme" theme song.

James plays a very "Jack McFarland"-type gay loser/actor named Tom Farrell, who lives with his equally over-the-top straight roommate, Linda La Hughes. It's sort of what you might expect of a Jack & Karen spin-off, only they are both rather common.

It looks like BBC2 only made 6 or 12 episodes so far in the BBC fashion, at least 3 of which have aired on BBCA.

Here's a link to a rather official looking website: http://www.tigeraspect.co.uk/progra...medy/gimme.html

The BBC America website describes it in a nutshell as "Will and Grace without the sex appeal." That's pretty accurate, neither character is very sexy, but it's very funny and dead common.
