You should have it already. If you send me a PM with your name and TiVo service number, I can put in a case to add you to the list of people signed up for the trial.

You should get an email confirmation a day or so after you sigh up -
or at least I did. It tells you where to get the tivo desktop dowload so you can install in advance... now I'm just waiting...

Looks like I am in the same boat.

No Email.

No "Have Fun!" confirmation screen.

Same here. I went through the on-screen menus 3 times just to make sure. But I didn't get any confirmation screen and I haven't received any email. Maybe I'm waiting for something I'm not gonna get.

Add me to the list of people confused by the trial sign-up. I did get the Have Fun! screen but have not received any confirmation mail and, as of 11:00 AM Central the option is not activated.

I think the confusion stems from the fact that when you press select to exit the Have Fun! screen, you're dumped back at the Sign up screen instead of TiVo central.

I hope my sign-up worked. I had already decided that I was going to subscribe to the option at the end of the trial as $49 seemed like a fair price to add the upgrade. $99 was too much, especially since I had to shell out another $59 for a wireless adapter.

TiVo Bill-- Here's a suggestion: offer a wireless adapter bundled with the option for $99.

2. Choose the "Yes, I'd love a FREE TRIAL" option. You should then see a "Have Fun!" confirmation screen with details about how you can start enjoying home media option once the trial starts.

Is that the experience that you had?

I never got this on either of my SA S2's. I know the ad didn't run via the service data d/l until early this morning (4-5am EST 8/4)...and I watched it on a TV without Tivo. But again, nothing on Tivo Central or in Showcases has appeared. I've forced daily calls and rebooted several times on both S2's...still nothing. What can I do to get the free trial?

Patience everybody. August 4th is just getting started. They havn't processed the requests yet, so nobody has started the Free Trial yet. They will process them later today, and at that point, your Home Media Option Trial will start the next time that you connect to the TiVo service.

For those of you who have a Series2 DVR and didn't receive the Showcase highlighting the trial, send me a PM with your name and TiVo Service Number and I will get you signed up (it will take a few days since it will be done manually).

Quick question in regards to this special offer: Can I make a manual call later to get this info? My Tivo made it's call at around noon EST and therefore will not call again for a day or two.

You can force a connection -- TiVo Central --> Messages and Settings --> Settings --> Connect to TiVo Service

ok, thanks. I knew I could force a connection, but I wasn't sure if that would allow it to download that type of info. Thanks again.

Hey Bill,

Even though I did quickly get manually entered in the system (thanks, again) and got my 2-S2's activated (and have happily been using MRV)....I've now seen several of the 'commercials', plus text on the web site & e-mails, and here.....and I swear, it's still really confusing.

From some of the sources it CLEARLY appears you can try it for 30 days , and then choose to sign up to keep it....and at a discount rate. However, from the commercials and other sources, they clearly state you pay first, and get your money back if not satisified in 30 days.

This could have been done much more cleanly, and I hope I'm not missing something....'cause I intend to keep trying it, and most likely buy it next month. I hope that is the deal, and that I'll still get the discount.

I'm not buying it right now, because I've already discovered a HUGE bug related to HMO or perhaps just to peer-to-peer MRV....so I'm trying to make sure there's no more surprises, and hopefully this problem will be addressed (more details later)

Sorry there is confusion. The Free Trial runs from August 4th - August 31st. Nobody pays anything during the trial and it will automatically be turned off if the customer doesn't purchase Home Media Option by August 31st. The special promotional pricing of $59.00 is currently scheduled to end on September 15th and is not related (directly) to the Free Trial. There is always a 30-day money back guarantee on Home Media Option. Hope that clarifies things.
