Do you LOVE your vehicle?

I do! I've had my Touareg for just over 11 months, and this morning just passed 11111 miles. A lot of that was from my road trip earlier this year to SLC and Jackson Hole. I can't imagine a better vehicle that I could have taken on that road trip. I did a few hundred miles of off-road driving, and a few thousand miles of on road driving. Oh, and several hundred miles of "I know there's a road somewhere around here, but all I can see is snow" driving.

Shameless pic:

I've had my 89 Ranger since it was delivered from the factory. We're very close!

I do feel bad whenever I sell a car, and wonder periodically what ever became of them. That's probably why I still have an 89 Ranger and my newest vehicle is a 95. All of them are in good shape, and I plan on driving them into the ground unless my needs change somehow.

I like my Accord. It's reliable transportation. Comfortable too. But I can't say that I LOVE it. When I get rid of it, I won't be sad. I wasn't sad when I traded in my Civic for the Accord.

I love my 16 year old and 11 year old cars. I am finally at the point in life where I could buy pretty much any car I desire, but I choose to continue to drive these two great cars. Yep, they don't make 'em like that any more! I love my cars, probably too much...

Do I love my car like I love my child? No way.

Do I love my car way more than I should love an inanimate object? You bet I do!

I had never understood how people could be nuts over a car. I always had a plain car to get from place to place, and they always became rolling dumpsters after a few weeks of having acquiring them. Hardly ever washed them...just basic maintenence to keep them running.

Then I got my Cruiser GT last November, and I finally understood. Stanley (the car) gets washed twice a week, I detail it twice a month, premium gas, flick stray leaves and such off when I walk by, etc...heck, I still catch myself gazing out the window at him sometimes. Even joined a Cruiser club!

(To be fair, I was sad when I sold my old Dodge Omni. That car had carried me through all kinds of life changes. Last year, my Mom got a call from an East Texas sheriff's dept. Seems that whoever I sold the Omni-child to never changed the title, and it had been impounded. I was shocked that the thing still ran...but for a brief afternoon, Mom and I contemplated bailing it out and bringing it home because "it deserved a better fate than that". Yeah, we're weird...and no, we didn't.)

I have a 90 Ranger that I love. I wash it once a week, and wax it twice a year. If it looks like it might rain or snow and I don't have to go out I don't.

I'm getting a new Honda Odyssey mini-van this week. It has leather and a DVD player. If I don't love it, I'm sure my kids will.

The Beechjet 400 in the other picture is far more obtainable.

I can't take anyone with me in the B2. But I can load up the Beech and head to Vegas with several friends.

I've always had a love affair with my cars.

I love my RX330 for touring.

And my MR2 for raw fun.
