Do I love my car like I love my child? No way.
Do I love my car way more than I should love an inanimate object? You bet I do!
I had never understood how people could be nuts over a car. I always had a plain car to get from place to place, and they always became rolling dumpsters after a few weeks of having acquiring them. Hardly ever washed them...just basic maintenence to keep them running.
Then I got my Cruiser GT last November, and I finally understood. Stanley (the car) gets washed twice a week, I detail it twice a month, premium gas, flick stray leaves and such off when I walk by, etc...heck, I still catch myself gazing out the window at him sometimes. Even joined a Cruiser club!
(To be fair, I was sad when I sold my old Dodge Omni. That car had carried me through all kinds of life changes. Last year, my Mom got a call from an East Texas sheriff's dept. Seems that whoever I sold the Omni-child to never changed the title, and it had been impounded. I was shocked that the thing still ran...but for a brief afternoon, Mom and I contemplated bailing it out and bringing it home because "it deserved a better fate than that". Yeah, we're weird...and no, we didn't.)
Next performance..."Choices" Monday, March 15 @ the Lamb's Theatre (Off Broadway!) in New York City!
"...and jubulation ensued. And there's a lot of people here in Edmonton, heading to the exits with upside down smiles."
