You have my vote. After I saw Revelations on HBO I bought the full version and Relentless from a company in England and had them dubbed so I could watch them on the American format. I have watched those tapes MANY times.
I am also a big Carlin and Bill Maher fan, but my vote would have to go to BILL!!!!!!

My vote goes to Robin Williams' early work - Reality What a Concept is a brilliant comedy album.

I've always liked Lewis Black. Kathleen Madigan is good as well.

Although I was in the audience for Robin Williams Live at the Met performance, my vote has to go to George Carlin. He is still going strong touring with new material after four decades. That night at the Met was the closest I have ever come to wetting myself in public.

I was gonna start this thread!!! Oh well.

I have seen many comedians over the years, and love to watch any kind of standup. My vote based solely on standup alone is gonna be Drew Carey. He was the first person that ever made me laugh hysterically. And his sets are remarkably clean. I have seen him live twice and both were different acts and really funny. My close runner up is Dave Attell his standup is completely different than what you see on network TV, he is truly gifted. Third I am going to have to take Stephen Wright.

My favorite is Stephen Wright - of course I usually don't laugh until 10 minutes after the joke...

Wow; it's hard to pick just one. As a big stand-up junkie, I've got a lot of favorites. If I had to pick just one, though, I think it would have to be Eddie Izzard.

It's all timing, mood and circumstance. For me, the best stand up I ever saw was Bill Cosby when I saw him live at Radio City. But then again, I've seen him on TV doing stand up and it wasn't that good. Same with any other comedian... Jerry Seinfeld, George Carlin, Robin Williams... it's all a matter of the mood you were in at the time and the relevance of the material to your life-situation.

Oh... and Richard Pryor was the very first comedian that really made me snort beer out of my nose

These are all good. I will add Sam Kinisen, Steve Martin and Eddie Murphy who I did see live in his hayday. He was great.

Of the comedians I've seen live, Lewis Black was the funniest.

For absolute side-splittingly funny stand-up comic, I must vote for Robin Williams.

For a consistently funny act, over a career of more than 40 years, and still funny, I'd have to give the nod to Bill Cosby.

Currently I'd say Eddie Izzard and Ron White.
