So how do you like your liquor?

Noticed a couple comments about Jack and Coke, or 7&7 or CC&7.

CC&7 is pretty good, except VO and 7 are really smooth.

Rum and Coke = good.

Bourbon, on the rocks, baby!

Edited to add:

Scotch, neat in the wintertime, and on the rocks other times...

In the front...

I can occasionally do a rum & Coke, Jack & Coke or maybe a SoCo & 7, but tequila is where my heart is. If it's good stuff, I can do shots, but a nice, tart (way more so than 99% of what's served north of the border) margarita on the rocks is really my favorite.

Oh, and Kahlua and cream (or Bailey's, or Amarula) on the rocks; good drinks, all.

OK, one more: Hurricane, in the style of Pat O'Brien's (i.e. full-o-booze).

EDIT: Crap, forgot Bloody Marys. Love 'em. Hmmm, maybe I *DO* like booze. However, it's still a very occasional thing.

Vodka martini - Favorite vodka is a Russian one called Rodnik - smoothest ever! In a pinch, Grey Goose. With "anything"-stuffed olives. Favorite is blue cheese stuffed, jalepeno stuffed and almond stuffed.

Jack and Coke. Went to pick some up the other night and the drugstore was out so I got Maker's Mark and it just doesn't work with Coke (Which I'm drinking right now). Makes a good Manhattan - which I'm just getting into. I love Bookers - but I'll take that neat and not spoil it in a cocktail.

Tequila is great - and margaritas. As long as it's not syrupy sweet margarita mix - yuck. Tequila mixes well with Coke and a little lime, surprisingly enough.

For after an after dinner treat, B&B in a snifter.

Big bold red wines with food. Or, beer with Asian and Mexican foods.

jami

Very few people can make a good margarita...basically for me it is: Cuervo Gold, plenty of fresh lime juice, a dash of grand marnier.
9 times out of 10 bartenders give me a dirty look when I ask if they are going to use a mix to make a margarita.

So I just resort to Absolut Citron on the rocks with extra lemon squeeze. Grey Goose Le Citron if they have it. Pretty hard to mess that up...and with the Goose you can always tell if they have watered it down.

SO true on both accounts!! No one ever makes a "real" margarita with fresh lime. I like them served "up" when done properly.

My theory is that they put the nice premiums like Grey Goose on the light so it heats up, melts the ice and waters down the drink. I get really annoyed with places like that.

jilter and jamijc, I'm with ya! Margaritas aren't supposed to be sickly sweet; it just ain't natural!

We're mostly beer drinkers but when we do liquor it's usually Bloody Marys in the morning and Screwdrivers in the afternoon. I've been known to mix a few squadrons of B-52's at parties, too.

This is making me feel like a bit of a lush, as I can't even begin to agree with everyone and add my own. But here's a try:

Makers and soda on the rocks
Pacifico and Sapporo beer
Margaritas (rocks, with salt)
Big red wines
Buttery white wines
Port
Grey Goose dirty martinis with stuffed olives
White Russians
Crown Royal
Mimosas
Bloody Mary

Hmm... what did I forget...

Sake (cold, unfiltered)
Irish Coffee
Bally's and Coffee
Sex on the Beach
Mike's hard lemonade (on hot days at the dog park)
