Cool 2.0.1 Standalone Video Relolution Update

Okay folks, there seems to be little I can do to keep this forum cheery lately, but this is a little something.

Here is the signup for the video resolution adjustment for Standalone TiVos running 2.0.1. If you haven't noticed anything different (5000+ beta testers) then you probably don't need the adjustment.

That's awesome. Once again, TiVo demonstrates its commitment to fixing problems with the software.

We haven't raised as much of a ruckus in this thread as the folks did in the "dropping resolution" thread, but it sure would be nice if someone from TiVo would humor us and at least say something about the issue. Throw us a bone!

In fact, I didn't notice the degridation when I first got 2.0.1. I think I was mostly excited about the new software and wasn't paying attention. Then I found out about it, and did an A/B comparison, and it was very obvious.

The problem is that once you see the problem you can't help but notice it from that point on! So I'm really glad you're getting the fix in place. Thanks RB!

Thanks, Richard.. once again, TiVo, in my opinion, is going over and above good customer service into GREAT customer sevice. Sure, some will complain that it is too long coming, but patience is definitely the best policy when it comes to these matters.

Bravo!

Brad

Thank you!

If we are running Z16, is it ok to submit this request?

Will this also trigger the z16->2.0.1 version# change as well?

thanks

Is this just to get to the front of the list, or will you only receive the update if you ask for it? I don't notice the difference myself, but I'd like to eventually have the better picture in case I'm demoing the TiVo to someone who could tell the difference.

question...

this fix is for people with S-Video connections, right? whenever i record NBA games on medium quality, it looks horrible, but it looked great with 1.3.

thanks

My thoughts exactly. So, is it ok to sign up and will it trigger z16->2.0.1?

Thanks

I have a different question:

Is it ok to sign up if you just received the 2.01 Gold?

Because not only did I just receive Gold this morning, but I also signed up already.

(Am I hosed now?)

So is this just for SVideo connections, or will it make the other connections (composite) seem less "fuzzy" also? Just curious...

It should make composite a/v connections better as well. I also got gold yesterday and am one that is wondering do we need to get this update or does gold have it now? It seems that this needs to be rolled to everyone at some point since this is a capability that we all had and don't have now. I will also say that I am one that noticed it but new it would be fixed, in fact this is my first post regarding it.
