Better channel guide (like my cable)?

I like the fact that my cable box gives me a small banner (so I can keep watching TV) that allows me to scroll through channels without switching to them immediately. Tivo's channel guide fills the whole screen unfortunately. It seems like Tivo could do the same as my cable box: they have the smaller banner option but one can't move up and down channels without switching the channel.

I'm a newcomer so forgive me if this has been suggested to death--don't see it here.

Actually yes and no. A lot of new TiVo owners want it to emulate live TV features offered by both satellite and cable services. Once you start watching TiVo and not live TV, you won't care anymore.
