SELLING TIVO- NEED ADVICE!

I need your help! I'm selling my 30 hour Series 1 and am wondering how much it's worth. It has a yearly subscription that's up in April and is in good condition. What do you guys think?

Check closed auctions on eBay - that's a good benchmark. Without lifetime service, it will be competing against new S2 TiVos except for those who like to "hack".

If it is a Philips series 1, I believe it is worth about $40 plus value for the remaining paid up service. If it is a Sony, you can probably add about $20. As Steve said, eBay is the best indicator and probably the best place to sell it, unless you have someone local interested. If sold now, I would think it is worth about $130-$150 since it would have 10 months of service included.

Ok, do any of you know...since I started out with a yearly subscrip they give me the option to renew it yearly.....would the new owner of my Tivo be given the same option?

IIRC, yearly subscriptions (now long gone) aren't transferable.

So the person I sell my Tivo to can't use up the rest of my subscription until it expires in April...they have to start their own script?

They should be able to use it until it expires. Then they'll have to buy either a monthly sub or lifetime sub on their own.

Four TiVos now, all with single Samsung drives:
Humax DRT800 w/DVD-R (174hrs)
Two older Series 2's (142hrs and 157hrs),and a newer nightlight
Series 2, a stupid case design IMO (174hrs)
All but the last are lifetimed. TiVite since 2000. There is a Good IR solution.
