Question iMac Intermittent delays with HMO playback Need help diagnosing

I have an imac and an IBM Thinkpad on my home wireless network. I use airport extreme with wireless G card on Thinkpad with airport card (wireless B) in the imac. The Thinkpad works great fro music playback but the iMac has continuous delays and interruptions. The imac is pretty unusable for HMO but most of my mp3's are on it. Is there a way to see if something is running on my imac that takes resources away from HMO playback?? Is there a way to diagnose network contention???
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks!
Alan

In Mac OSX, there's a program named "Process Viewer" which is found in the "Utilities" folder inside the "Applications" folder. My wife's iBook had slowdowns and we found that she had Norton Filesaver enabled which was tracking all file and directory activity. Turning it off took care of her issues.

For general network traffic analysis, I use a program named "intermapper". A limited time fully functional trial copy is available at http://www.intermapper.com
