Unhappy I just ordered Directv with Tivo.Many are saying the picture quality is not that good

Any insight as to why the picture quality with big screens or wide screen tend to have problems with the Tivo system?

The picture is a DTV picture; the Tivo with DTV makes a perfect pixel-for-pixel copy of that picture and that's what you're watching.

As with all digital compressed video, artifacts in the DTV picture are much more noticable on a large screen. All flaws in video of any kind are more noticable on a large screen.

However you may try and use video processor and or line doubler.
