Yes, I mean that. I WANT everyone's opinion here. Of course writing those words here is something of an oxymoron... just by posting I am inviting everyone to post their thoughts, huh?

Never mind.

I'm having troubles keeping up. There are so many interesting/fun/thought provoking threads (just look at the jacket I'm wearing) and threads to which I post, I'm losing track of them. Each day I open the forum and there are tons to read, and the replies come crashing into my brain, so much so, I cannot type fast enough.

Thanks for reading my wandering brain illusions... here's my question... how do you keep track, or keep up with all your posts? How do you know if someone has responded to your post?

Search on your own user name and select "show results as threads," you'll see all the threads in which you've posted in chronological order, starting with the latest.

You can also select "email notification" to get an email when someone responds. (And it's settable as a default in your profile.)

Use your User CP

It'll tell you if someone replied to any post your subbed to. Set it up without email notification and it's completely painless.

You can also click the "Subscribe to this thread" link at the bottom of the page, although that won't limit notifications to just your own posts.

BTW: I forgot to add this

Set it up so threads are subbed automatically - It's under Options in your User UP IIRC, but turn off email notices. That way, you'll know whenever someone posts to a thread that you've written in, but you don't have to deal with deleting thousands of emails.

I just log in every day and look at the new threads in coffee house, DTiVo land, HDTV, and HMO. I always click on new ones that I have responded to, and theni pick the best looking new ones. I open them in backround page in Opera 7.20 and then I go through them all one by one.

by not bothering about threads that say there are too many threads to keep up with, or threads on known issues (bad customer service, etc) and which TiVo to buy threads

I seem to have caught up now. I've been using the Search for my own name and been quite successful. I think now I'll simply use the View New Posts, and leave it at that. Cheers.
