Question GSOD Loop - yes, I said loop

Ok, I need some help. I have a Series 1 SA Tivo, I have upgaded it with 2 100gb HDs which are almost full with shows. Its been running great for a year. Then it started stuttering yesterday.

I read here that a reboot might fix this (yes, long shot I know). This resulted in a reboot loop. Wait -> almost there -> reboot. So I followed the "kickstart" guide here: http://alt.org/wiki/index.php/TivoDiagnostics.

First I hit emergency install. This did nothing. Then I hit MFS check. This worked, brought up the GSOD. It ran and rebooted. I was sooo hopeful. But it went through wait->almost there, then the green screen came up again. Huh? Let it go, it rebooted again. 5 times and its still going as we speak.

So, I know its dead. Heres my problem. I want to keep the recordings (which is why I went through all this). I have 2 100GB disks I can use to dd copy. However, will I still be stuck in the GSOD loop after a DD copy? Is there anything I can do about this? Any way to keep my recordings? Loosing the season passes and so forth sucks pretty bad but I can live with it. The recordings are another matter. Help please?

Check out this post from Robert S. It fixed my GSOD loop a while back. That should get you back up and running so you can DD the discs.
